I used to find the cleaning process of Crocs a bit of a tough chore until I came across so many easy methods. The techniques I use to clean my Crocs now make the process a lot more convenient and effective!
How To Clean Crocs?
Crocs are very easy to clean if done in the right way. The Croslite material that makes Crocs is super easy to clean as the texture of the material is almost like rubber. This is also the reason rubber Crocs don’t get dirty quickly or don’t keep stains for a long time.
It would help if you always tried to clean your Crocs using your hands to deep clean them. This makes them last longer, and you can spot clean them efficiently. If you really don’t want to go through the process of cleaning them by hand, don’t worry at all. Some Crocs can be easily washed using the washing machine as well.
Preparation
To prepare for washing your rubber Crocs, choose a big spot in your backyard or use your bathroom if it is big enough. You don’t want to feel restricted when you are cleaning your shoes.
Clap your Crocs together to get rid of any excess dirt that might be stuck in between the treads. If your Crocs have Jibbitz on them, take them out by pushing them out of the holes. If you are a forgetful person like me, take a picture before removing them so that you can place them back in the right positions.
At first, you have to understand what kind of cleaning your Crocs need. Yes, there is more than one way. If you want to make your Crocs go through a thorough cleaning, follow the simple steps below that needs soap and water solution.
Soap And Water Solution
Soap and water are just simple ingredients you find at home. They are cheap and convenient, but they are a great combination to wash your Crocs perfectly.
Step 1: Take a big enough bucket with lukewarm water. Make sure to avoid hot water as it can shrink your beautiful Crocs.
Step 2: Mix the mild soap or laundry detergent in the water to make a soapy solution.

Cleaning wipes can clean any surface-level stains on your Crocs. You can also use them to clean anything stuck in the holes of your Crocs. They are cheap and convenient for carrying on a trip.
Cleaning The Strap
While cleaning the soles and toes of the Crocs, we often forget to clean the straps thoroughly. This can cause the straps to build up dirt and stains. Your rubber Crocs straps can even get stiff if you avoid washing them properly.
You can use a toothbrush to apply detergent or baking soda paste on the straps. It will clean your straps thoroughly and prevent any building up of bacteria.

Step 1: If your Canvas Crocs have shoelaces, take them out. Cleaning them separately will let you wash them thoroughly. Soak them in soapy water and rinse them with clean water. You can also scrub them with a toothbrush if the shoelaces have stains on them.
Step 2: Use a solution of mild soap or detergent with water to soak your Canvas Crocs. Lukewarm water is perfect for making soap and water solution.
Step 3: Take a toothbrush or a soft scrub to gently scrub on the Canvas shoes. You can dip the toothbrush in a liquid detergent to apply to stains directly. Avoid powder detergent as they can collect on the shoes.
Note: Avoid scrubbing roughly over prints and labels. They might get ruined.
Step 4: This step is optional. It is only applicable if there are stubborn stains on the Canvas Crocs. Use a stain remover for laundry over the stains on the shoes and keep them for 10 minutes before rinsing.

White Crocs are my favorite as they look great with almost anything I wear. But, after wearing them for a while, I started to notice that they were not as white and clean as before. Magic Eraser
Magic erasers are great for white shoes if you are looking for quick cleaning of stains. They are easy to apply and, this method doesn’t require any soap or detergent.
Step 1: Soak the magic eraser in warm water and let the sponge get saturated.
Step 2: Apply the magic eraser by rubbing it on stains, or you can rub it all over the Crocs if you think they lost their whiteness.
Here is a trick you can try. Use the corners and the edges to get into the tough spots and in between the treads. Thank me later.
Step 3: Rinse the white Crocs with cold water and wipe them using an old white towel. Allow them to air dry.
Bleach Soak
The magic eraser technique was for a quick stain cleaning. If you want to clean your white Crocs thoroughly, you can bleach soak them. It will help you get rid of the yellow tone of your white Crocs. Bleach is a perfect decolorizing agent so make sure to use it for washing plain and white shoes only.
Step 1: Clean your white Crocs with soapy water at first. Choose a big enough space with proper ventilation to carry on the bleaching process.
Step 2: Take a bowl big enough to immerse your Crocs in completely. Fill it with lukewarm water and add bleach that is about a capful.

How To Clean Your Crocs Jibbitz?
It is essential to clean your Crocs Jibbitz separately to keep them clean and fresh. The Jibbitz charms also collect a lot of dirt in between their patterns. If you don’t clean them properly, they become dirty very easily and look very dull and dusty.
If you are a fan of collecting a ton of Jibbitz for your Crocs like me, you should know some tricks to wash them that I use to keep them clean and long-lasting. They are very easy to clean!
Step 1: Take the Jibbitz out of your Crocs carefully.
Step 2: Soak them in lukewarm soapy water. Make sure you don’t use hot water as it can ruin your beautiful Jibbitz. Keep them soaked for roughly 5 to 10 minutes.
Step 3: You can use an old toothbrush to scrub over the Jibbitz individually to get rid of any dirt or stain.
Step 4: Rinse them thoroughly with cold water and let them air dry, or you can wipe them with a dry towel.
*Note: Don’t use a dryer or a washing machine for the Jibbitz as they can ruin them.
Additional Tips For Cleaning And Maintaining Your Crocs
Don’t forget to clean the holes of your Crocs
Many people forget to clean the holes of the Crocs properly while washing them. Even I used to do so. After a while, I noticed the inside of the holes getting dull and collecting dirt. To avoid this situation, clean the holes of your Crocs using a straw cleaner to prevent any building up of bacteria. A toothbrush or a pipe cleaner will also work just fine.
Pre-rinse your Crocs before cleaning them
Do you find way too much dirt coming out of your Crocs when you are scrubbing them? Just use this simple trick to avoid this issue. Rinse your Crocs with cold water before you get into the actual washing process. This will make you Crocs get rid of all the extra dirt and dust.
Avoid keeping your rubber Crocs in a hot car for a long time
Keeping your Crocs exposed to hot places can make them shrink! Avoid making this mistake if you want your lovely Crocs to stay in your size.
Carefully washing your Crocs using the washing machine
It is best if you hand wash your Crocs. It makes them last longer. But, if you don’t want to go through all this process, you can use a washing machine. Make sure to throw in some old towels as well to protect your Crocs from banging on the inside of the machine.
