📗Are On Cloud Shoes Good for Flat Feet?

On Cloud shoes are great for flat feet. You need to consider some factors before getting a shoe for flat feet. I have evaluated On Cloud shoes based on those attributes. Let’s see what they are.

☛ Decent cushioning

On Cloud shoes are lightweight and super comfortable. Despite having great support, the shoe is comfortable to wear. The shoes utilize On Cloud’s CloudTec technology on the outsole. The outsole is made of compressed material which offers excellent energy return and makes the shoe comfortable to wear.

☛ Toe room

If you have flat feet, you need a spacious toe box in your shoe. If the toe box is too much spacious, you will lose the support. The lack of support will increase your chances of injury as you have flat feet. On the other hand, narrow toe boxes will hurt your toes because you have flat feet.

On Cloud shoes’ toe boxes are adequately spacious. The shoe is a bit tight-fitting overall, but the toe box has comfortable space for people with flat feet.

☛ Breathability

On Cloud shoes are great for running in urban areas. The upper of the shoes are made of mesh materials. On Cloud uses high-quality mesh materials that make the shoe breathable and durable.

I wore different models of On Cloud shoes for running. The mesh materials prevent the inside from getting hot and sweaty. I did not have any skin diseases from wearing the shoe.

☛ Arch support

On Cloud shoes have excellent arch support. The shoes are raised around the middle. As you have flat feet, you will land hard on the surface. The shoe is designed to protect the middle of your foot while you land.

☛ Heel support

On Cloud shoes fit a bit tight. The tight fit is ideal for flat feet. Flip-flops and many other shoes are too loose. If you have flat feet, your shoes should comfortably wrap around the heel region.

On Clouds wrap around the heel nicely. The heel region is sturdy but wrapped with soft materials. So, I didn’t get any blisters or bruises even after half marathon runnings.

☛ Raised heel

You need shoes with slightly raised heels if you have wide feet. 1-2 inch raised heels are perfect. Most On Cloud shoes belong to this category. They are not too high, not too low.

Raised heels take the stress off your midsole. These shoes increase the longevity of the midsole and reduce foot pain. On Cloud shoes have thick raised heels for maximum support.

☛ Good lacing system

On Cloud shoes have two types of lacing systems- one is the traditional lacing system and the elastic lacing. The elastic lacing variant is best for flat feet. It is short and tidy. The traditional laces are long and may get messy sometimes. You can adjust the laces to fit your flat feet perfectly.

The adjustable laces on the On Clouds allow you to evenly accommodate different parts of your feet. You need to tie the laces properly, so the shoe fits snugly. A snug fit will keep your feet in place and prevent your feet from sliding or moving while running. This ensures you get the shoe’s full support and correct your gait problems.

☛ Removable insole

On Cloud shoes have comfortable insoles. But if you are not satisfied with them or need a special type of insoles, you can remove them from the On Cloud shoes.

In my case, I consulted my doctor and replaced the stock insole with custom orthotic inserts. The orthotics made the shoe more comfortable for me. So, I recommend getting custom orthotic inserts if you have flat feet.

📙Do Flat Feet Need Arch Support?

Ideal shoes for flat feet have good arch support. Arch support is essential for people with flat feet. You need additional support in the middle of your shoes. Shoes with raised arch support can take pressure off of your middle foot.

Raised arch support aligns your feet properly. It protects your ankle, knee, and hip and prevents them from twisting while you move.

📘Do On Clouds Have Arch Support?

Yes, they do. As I mentioned above, On Cloud shoes have excellent arch support. Most of the shoes have raised arch support. This will help you remove stress from the middle part of the feet.
