For years, Skechers released popular shoes monthly. Those shoes continue to be popular amongst the demographic even today, especially among youths like young teens and adults.
Since we are on the topic of Skechers, it would be nice to find out how they began and became so popular as a shoe company. After all, it is not a small feat that they still stand firm after all these years. Here is everything you need to know:
History
Skechers was started way back in 1992 by none other than Robert Greenberg. Previously, he had founded LA Gear back in 1983.
Fun fact – initially, Skechers was meant to be just a distributing store for Dr. Martens shoes. But later on, Greenberg decided to make the brand his own in his unique image hence why the company started targeting hip and young shoe users.
But later down the line, he decided to leave and started Skechers in the same year (1992). Why is that? Because he wanted to focus on the next potential big thing – casual footwear for men in the market.
This is also further backed up if you look up early Skechers products – mainly utility-style boots and skating shoes.
Ever since then, the company has expanded its products. They include performance and casual styles for men, women, and kids, along with apparel athleisure clothes.
Around 1993, they did many things, including buying other brands like Karl Kani and Cross Colours into the mix. Then the company agreed to improve its brand to make more profit in the long run.
While their first shoe was the Cascades logger boot, they released the Chrome Dome in the same year, 1993. There is no doubt that the shoes were popular during that time. The shoes appealed to both sexes, and the ‘grunge’ youth made it famous as a boot icon.
Starting from January 2019, their corporate headquarters were expanded so that their office, showroom space and design space can be handled easier and to double them at the same time.
Their directors include Robert Greenberg, Michael Greenberg, David Weinberg, Katherine Blair, Morton Erlich, Zulema Garcia, Yolanda Macias, and Richard Siskind. The current market share of Skechers is around 5 million dollars.

Even though Skechers D’Lites got terrible reviews for not being good enough to wear socks with, not to mention they have bad laces, they still have decent pros to justify buying them. For example, the shoes are supportive and will keep your feet warm and comfortable. Not to mention these shoes boost height too!

The Bounder Wolfston is quite popular, and it does not have many cons to ponder. Except for being tight, it is a great choice!
Due to the excellent cushioning, lightweight, durable, and breathable build, this shoe is great for many things. Casual wear, gym, and running are perfect for average users.

The requirement for a double knot for the laces aside, the Arch Fit is excellent, but only if it is winter, as the shoes can be tough to handle in summer. It can get hot in there. But the traction and fit on the shoes are excellent, and the underfoot being plush is commendable.

Skechers Energy shoes offer excellent durability to withstand rainy weather and slippery surfaces. However, they are criticized for having poor arch support. These shoes can be used for emergencies on rainy days but not for long-term wear.

You may need to break in Skechers Uno shoes, but they become great to wear once you do. The Unos are stylish; they cradle the midfoot nicely and are durable enough to withstand even the most challenging situations.

Skechers GOwalk 5 is a great all-day shoe that is well cushioned and breathable, not to mention easy to slip in and out of without a hassle. However, the upper material may stretch.

The Sketchers Summits give off the feel of walking on clouds thanks to the memory foam and the fact that these shoes can accommodate wide feet. But there is a lack of ventilation, and the memory foam can wear out quickly. Keep these in mind.

Although the Skechers Max Cushioning Arch Fit shoe has a bad time maintaining better wear-and-tear, it can be forgiven for how the shoes can help heal any foot pain. Then there is also the appealing design and no requirement of breaking in.

The durability of the outsole on Skechers Equalizer 2.0 is quite bad. The upper has a tight fit. But the pros of cushioning and versatility, along with the excellent fit, make the shoe good enough to bother about.

The GOWalk shoes are aesthetically lovely to the eyes, provide excellent support, relieve pain, and are lightweight. Great shoe for anyone to buy. Good for wearing all day as well.

Stylish, great colors, and suitable for orthotic reasons? Yes, it is the Arch Fit. The arch support is good too. But the shoes can wear out, and laces are sometimes known to be loose unintentionally.

Known for not having cons that are a big deal, the Evolution Ultra has the perfect size and width for any user. They are worth buying and even can be worn all day.
✒️Skechers Go Run Ride 9
Ever wanted a pull tab to get inside your shoes easily? This Skechers is the one for you. The tongue is softly padded along with the collar as well. You can even remove the insole to modify the cushioning yourself. What else can a long runner ask for?
✒️Skechers Go Run Forza 4
This has to be Skecher’s most stable shoes yet. Hyper burst cushioning helps deal with the impact, and the outsole is so good with traction that it can be possibly one of their most non-slip shoes as well. Summary
Skechers are so famous that they are used by not just people of my generation but also by others who are way older than the typical adult of today. This shows how much of a legacy they have established in the shoe industry.
In my personal use, Skechers is nice. They will not disappoint you if you get the right shoes from them. Some of their shoes have received criticism over the years. But this has not stopped them from overtaking and challenging their competitors.
