When Knight started participating on the school’s field team, he got close contact with his coach Bill Bowerman. At that moment, he found his path of the future. Bowerman and Knight later established Blue Ribbon Sports.

Knight was the person who used Nike’s first pair of shoes. Bowerman learned basic things from a local cobbler and later, he tried himself to optimize the shoe models and upgrade them with various modifications.

Present Headquarters

The global headquarters of Nike was situated in Beaverton, Oregon, United States. Nike has taken a project to expand its headquarters to a 3.2 million square foot building.

Nike has over 700 officially contracted stores worldwide, along with 45 regional offices in different countries. This company has a significant portion of its manufacturing factories in Asian countries such as Indonesia, China, Taiwan, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Pakistan, Philippines, and Malaysia.

They sell their products in 170 countries across the world. According to a recent study, about 43% of the total production unit of Nike is made in Indonesia, China, and Vietnam.
